FAQ’s
Q: What do you think this new building, plus upgrades is going cost?
A: It is really hard to say, although for planning purposes we have ventured a solid guess. 2.5 mil. is the cost we are thinking it will be. This includes: 600 seat auditorium estimating sq. ft, a large atrium connecting the two buildings, which will house our new Valley Cafe, new parking out front as well as additional parking that we had to purchase to fulfill code for the proper amount of parking spaces per seat, etc. Also, the upgrade to our existing building including kids story and play area.
Q: How much have we raised so far?
A: As of 3.21.19, we have over 800k in pledges over 3 years and 180k in first fruit, vision offerings. That is pretty awesome right there. We are praying for at least 1million in pledges.
Q: Are you planning on borrowing the remainder?
A: Yes, we are. We are seeking financing right now and all looks good for us to get what we need. Based on our monthly tithes and offerings plus the potential for continued growth, we are comfortable with this decision.
Q: When will the new construction begin?
A: Now that we have our initial monies from our Forward Campaign pledges, we will move forward with securing our builder etc. Just as soon as we begin gathering all the information that we need to prepare the site for building as required, we hope to start breaking ground by the early fall.
Q: It appears that we have already broken ground with the parking? Have we started?
A: We have started the design and planning stage, but not the building or site development stage. This parking space you see, was planned back in 2018 and our contractor had to wait for the land to dry out. We budgeted monies in 2018 for this purpose. Thankfully, this comes just in time. ALSO, this parking will eventually be paved and added to our new campus design.
Q: How much will the new construction and upgrades cost?
A: We are doing our best to get those numbers to you as soon as we can. Based on basic per foot costs, we can only speculate at this point. The new building, atrium, and children’s space upgrade will probably be around 2.5 million. And of course, there are other costs that could drive this up such as sound system, curtains, and stage materials. We are trying to prioritize so that we can at least get the basics, and then as we are able, add on.
Q: Can we save money by doing some of the work ourselves?
A: Absolutely. In fact, we are counting on it. The existing building upgrades will mostly be done by us. There will still be the cost of materials, but we have so much talent in our congregation, we think we can pull this part off by pooling our talents.
Q: Who will do the children’s space upgrade?
A: This will be contracted out as we want it to be excellent even beyond our own abilities, which of course includes pre-fab materials that may be difficult to acquire. We will be looking to companies that specialize in creating these awesome spaces. This part we hope to do at the very beginning from the initial pledge funds or what we call the vision offering on March 17th.
